Intelligent Collections System
Also known as I.C. System, Intelligent Collections System was founded in 1938 and has grown to be the largest family-owned, privately-held collection agency in the United States. Intelligent Collections System collects unpaid consumer debt in the retail, commercial, healthcare, telecom and utility industries. In their attempt to collect debt, Intelligent Collections System will go to the extent of reporting derogatory information on the consumers' credit report and has even been known to take legal action in order to have judgments placed on the consumers' credit report.
Federal laws allow collection agencies the ability to place derogatory marks on the consumer's credit report, which can damage your credit score and may prevent lenders from approving you for new credit. Even if you’re approved for the financing you would like, with low credit scores you can rest assured your interest rate will be high. Among other laws, the Consumer Credit Protection Act grants the consumer to dispute, and potentially remove derogatory articles to include charge offs and collection agency marks from your credit report.

Here is one of the update letters I received from the credit bureaus. This one is from Equifax and shows the deletion of three credit accounts, four collections and two civil judgments. One of the deleted collections was placed on my credit file by Intelligent Collections System.
